Nonprofit Spotlight: Pawsitivity Service Dogs for Veterans

Meet Pawsitivity Service Dogs for Veterans!

Founded in 2012, Pawsitivity Service Dogs trains service dogs for U.S. military veterans with PTSD and other disabilities.

Q: What is unique about Pawsitivity Service Dogs, and what would the community miss without your organization?

Were our small and dedicated nonprofit not to exist, the community would miss out on our uniquely personalized services. Minnesota veterans with PTSD and other disabilities living in complicated circumstances receive highly individualized support from our organization, care they require and deserve. We also focus on aiding veterans who have children with disabilities and autism.

Pawsitivity Service Dogs earned the Meets Standards® seal through Charities Review Council’s Accountability Wizard® online tool.

Q: How has assessing your organization with the Accountability Wizard® strengthened your capabilities or led to improvements?

As a small nonprofit, we have derived immense value from the Council’s assessment tool. It’s not just an evaluation; it has truly served as a mentor for us.

With guidance from this process, we have embraced valuable learning opportunities about best practices. This dedication to best practices, specifically in the areas of accountability and transparency, has deepened our relationship with our donors and board.

A tangible manifestation of the achievement of the Meets Standards® seal is the increased number of grants we have received.

You can find Pawsitivity Service Dogs for Veterans’ annual and financial reports here.
