Let’s #GiveAtHomeMN!

May 1st - May 8th

Join your fellow Minnesotans for #GiveAtHomeMN, a virtual fundraising event taking place May 1- 8 for nonprofits and schools across Minnesota.

Like many of you, we’ve been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely, doing everything we can to “do our part” in slowing the spread, flattening the curve, and staying healthy. For us at Charities Review Council, that meant temporarily closing our physical office and offering our services and resources completely online. However, many of our nonprofit colleagues kept their doors open in an effort to continue delivering on their mission to support our most vulnerable populations.

“All of us benefit more from nonprofits’ work than we’ll ever know. The challenge is that nonprofit work is often like air: people take it for granted because we do not see it and we don’t take much time to think about it until it is no longer there.” – Vu Le

To ensure nonprofits can help us through this crisis and are well-positioned to serve us into the future, we’re encouraging you to join us for #GiveAtHomeMN, a virtual fundraising event taking place May 1-8 for nonprofits and schools across Minnesota.

At Charities Review Council, we believe in the power of strong donor-nonprofit relationships and we know that these relationships will make all the difference during this time. So, as you’re considering how you can “do your part,” consider making a gift to Charities Review Council and one (or more!) of your favorite Meets Standards® Nonprofits during #GiveAtHomeMN. Nonprofits included on our list have taken steps to align their internal policies, practices, and procedures to widely-accepted standards for nonprofit accountability and strength. These are nonprofits that you can feel confident investing in. For more on #GiveAtHomeMN, check out the FAQs, below.

What is #GiveAtHomeMN?

It’s a weeklong, online fundraiser on GiveMN.org to support nonprofits and schools all across Minnesota. Just as we come together each year during Give to the Max Day, #GiveAtHomeMN is about the power of our collective generosity and how it can make a difference during this unprecedented time.

When is #GiveAtHomeMN?

Mark your giving calendars! #GiveAtHomeMN starts this Friday, May 1st, and runs through Friday, May 8th.

Why should I give during #GiveAtHomeMN?

Besides the feel-good benefits of supporting local causes you care about, making a gift on GiveMN.org during #GiveAtHomeMN has some added benefits too, like Bonus Grants/Golden Tickets! In fact, there are 200 chances to win additional dollars for your favorite nonprofit partners.

Bonus Grants, also known as Golden Tickets, are random chance drawings. Each gift you make during #GiveAtHomeMN provides your cause with a chance to have a Golden Ticket added to your gift. If GiveMN selects your donation the organization you supported with that gift will receive an additional Golden Ticket. All you have to do is make a gift (or lots of gifts!) and GiveMN will enter it into the bonus drawing.

There will be two types of Golden Tickets awarded during #GiveAtHomeMN.

  • $250 Golden Tickets every hour from May 1-8
  • $2,500 Golden Ticket every day from May 1-8

So, go ahead, grab your lucky socks and make a gift to Charities Review Council and one (or more!) of your favorite Minnesota Meets Standards® Nonprofits.
