Join the Minnesota tradition of giving to your favorite organization in November!
Are you considering a gift but want to feel more confident in how you select which organization to support? Are you looking for a bit more insight on nonprofit governance after the recent press about a local organization under investigation? We are here to inform donors so that you can give with confidence using the lens of the Council’s Accountability Standards®.
Charities Review Council is here on Give to the Max Day, and every day, to support you in making charitable decisions.
What is Give to the Max Day?
Since 2009, GiveMN.org has been hosting a 24-hour, online give-a-thon… Minnesota’s “giving holiday”. Now an annual tradition, Give to the Max Day activities have raised more than $248 million for more than 10,000 nonprofits and schools!
In 2021 alone, $34.4 million was raised for 6,457 organizations. We hope you’ll participate (again) this year.
Sign up for Charities Review Council communications to stay up to date on this and other important donor topics throughout the year.
When is Give to the Max Day?
Thursday, November 17th. But, you don’t have to wait until then to give. Give to the Max Day supports early giving any time between November 1 and November 17.
Give to the Max Day is a strategic time to give – many organizations leverage a matching gift from a partnering foundation or corporation during November, and prizes from GiveMN.org are awarded to organizations throughout the Give to the Max Day campaign that can help amplify your contribution. (There are 143 chances for your favorite organization to win additional funding this year when generous supporters like you give during this campaign!)
How do I participate in Give to the Max Day?
By visiting GiveMN.org, you can search by name for your favorite nonprofit or search by category for causes and organizations that align with your interests.
We hope you’ll consider making a gift to Charities Review Council this year! As we wrap up the celebration of our 75th anniversary year, we invite you to support the Council’s next 75 years by giving $75for75.
Knowing there is an abundance of generosity in our community, we hope you will also consider giving to our nonprofit partners. As GiveMN.org explains, “Minnesota is one of the most generous states in the nation, and that’s why GiveMN works to help connect generous donors like you with nonprofits and schools working to make our state a better place. We don’t want to simply reslice the giving pie — we want to grow it.” You can reference our list of Meets Standards® Nonprofits and feel confident knowing these organizations have met the Council’s Accountability Standards®.
