Woodbury Community Foundation

Mission Statement

Our mission is to strengthen our community by connecting people and organizations with causes that matter.

Impact and Programs

Accomplishments During the year ended June 30, 2025, we spent $298,855 in program dollars in our community and made a total of 67 grants totaling $156,315. We collected 1,775 winter clothing items across 26 sites and distributed to those most in need in our community. Over 400 local families were served meals or provided hygiene kits, bike helmets, backpacks and school supplies from various of our programs. We trained 70 community leaders through two of our leadership development programs, and sponsored 143 community garden plots (including 47 accessible plots), and produced/distributed 330 lbs of produce for our community food shelf.
Current Goals For the current fiscal year, the Woodbury Community Foundation’s programmatic goals focus on strengthening community connections, advancing local leadership, promoting health and well-being, supporting equity and inclusion, and growing sustainable local philanthropy. The Foundation will continue to operate and expand its core community programs, including the Woodbury Community Academy, Youth Engagement Leadership Academy, Woodbury Thrives, the Woodbury Community Garden, the Nonprofit Roundtable, the Woodbury Racial Equity Collaborative, and Woodbury Champions, all of which connect residents, nonprofits, schools, businesses, and government to causes that matter. Program goals include training emerging and established leaders, increasing volunteer engagement, expanding access to healthy food and wellness initiatives, supporting youth development, and addressing basic needs through grants, service projects, and partnerships. In addition, the Foundation will continue to serve as a fiscal sponsor for community-led initiatives, providing governance, financial oversight, and administrative support that allows local projects to thrive. A key organizational goal for the year is to grow philanthropic resources to support long-term community impact, including building the Heart of Woodbury Endowment and expanding recently launched Field of Interest Funds focused on Arts and Culture, Health and Human Services, and the Environment. The Foundation is also prioritizing fundraising to support the hiring of an Executive Director, which will enhance organizational capacity, sustainability, and the ability to scale programs and donor services in the service of Woodbury’s future.
