White Bear Lake Area Historical Society

Mission Statement

The White Bear Lake Area Historical Society connects our community to its past, cultivating an understanding and appreciation for our history.

Impact and Programs

Accomplishments In 2020 the White Bear Lake Area Historical Society engaged over 6,000 attendees in virtual programming to connect them to our community's past. We provided research services and information for more than 120 requests and we completed the construction of interior walls at the historic White Bear Town Hall returning that building to its original layout for interpretive purposes.
Current Goals In 2021 the White Bear Lake Area Historical Society aims to continue its virtual program offerings with four new presentations to connect our community to its past. In addition, we will complete the White Bear Town Hall Rehabilitation Project and open the WBTH as an interpretive site for public groups where student camps, public presentations and interpretive exhibits can be experienced. Finally the WBLAHS will undertake the first phases of a full inventory of its artifact and photograph collections to gain intellectual control over the collection and provide increased access to the public.
Community or Constituency Served The White Bear Lake Area Historical Society serves the residents and visitors to the White Bear area of all ages.
Geographic Area Served The White Bear Lake Area Historical Society serves the geographic area including the municipalities that touch the shore of White Bear Lake: Birchwood, Dellwood, Mahtomedi, White Bear Lake and White Bear Township.
