Accomplishments
In 2021, the agency’s 65 employees, 97 volunteers, and 15 independent contractors served nearly 12,000 people across four core program areas: Caregiving & Aging, Counseling & Therapy (including school-based and Center for Grief & Loss), Financial Solutions, and Youth Development. FamilyMeans, a place where people can get help and emerge stronger from life’s challenges.

Current Goals
FamilyMeans strengthens communities by helping individuals and families through challenges in all life stages. Our programming consists of the following main areas: Caregiving & Aging, Counseling & Therapy (including school-based and Center for Grief & Loss), Financial Solutions, and Youth Development. Our aim is to be adaptable, accessible, and affordable, especially in our programming, and to provide meaningful engagement for our volunteers.
Our current strategic plan which goes from 2022 through 2025, lists the following initiatives.

Community or Constituency Served
FamilyMeans has 4 primary programs that provide services to people working through a variety of life's challenges. The majority of our clients live in Minnesota and Wisconsin, however outreach has broadened in recent years due to our pivot to many virtual options.
Counseling & Therapy supports the mental health of individuals, couples, and families of any age at our outpatient clinics in Stillwater and St. Paul, MN and Hudson, WI. As well as, students ages 5-18 in 17 schools in 4 districts in MN and Western WI.
Caregiving & Aging supports caregivers as they provide care for a child or aging adult with a disability, frailty, or cognitive decline. Services are primarily provided in Washington and Ramsey County, MN but are reaching further with virtual options.
Financial Solutions supports those trying to work their way out of debt and/or manage finances. We provide these services in-person at our Stillwater, St. Paul, and Rochester, MN locations and our Eau Claire, WI location. We also provide virtual options to residents in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Florida, and Georgia.
Youth Development supports youth in the under-served communities of Landfall, MN and Cimarron (Lake Elmo, MN), ages 5-18.
Geographic Area Served
FamilyMeans has 5 physical locations including our main office in Stillwater, MN and satellite offices in St. Paul and Rochester, MN and Wisconsin sites in Hudson and Eau Claire.
In addition to our physical spaces, we also provide services virtually to residents across Minnesota and Wisconsin.
**The Financial Solutions program has also recently expanded to be licensed in Florida and Georgia.
