Mission Statement

The mission of Every Meal is to fight child hunger through community and school partnerships.

Impact and Programs

Accomplishments From July 2020- June 2021, Every Meal provided 2,346,944 meals to children in the community. We expanded our multiple food gap programs - Weekend Food Program, Summer and Winter Break Programs, the Grow and Give Garden Initiative, and our Community Meal Distribution Sites to 544 distribution locations, a 110% growth over prior year. Further, we continued to deepen connections with community partners, built stronger relationships, and responded to emergent food insecurity needs due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Current Goals Our programmatic goals are to offer our Weekend Food Program to all schools in any district where Every Meal has a presence, increasing our total number of schools from 300 schools to 500 (at minimum) schools in the 2021-2022 school year. Additionally, our goal is to distribute 500,000 meal bags (approximately 1.9 million meals) throughout this process. The Winter Meal Program is another area of focus for our team, and we aim to double this program to 100 locations throughout the state, with the goal of distributing 38,330 meals from November 2021 - January 2022.
Community or Constituency Served Every Meal serves Minnesota children living in food insecurity, providing meals during out-of-school times-weekends, school breaks and summer. The majority of our program recipients are elementary age.
Geographic Area Served Our Weekend Food Program and other food gap programs make our impact on child hunger significant throughout the Twin Cities and beyond. Our services aren’t restricted by certain cities, counties, or school districts.
