Meet Nonprofits at The Great Minnesota Get–Together
We know there will be thousands of Minnesotans, hundreds of baby animals, and countless foods-on-a-stick at the Minnesota State Fair. But have you ever considered the number of community organizations you can meet at the fair?
If you are heading to The Great Minnesota Get-Together this month, we recommend these easy ways to enhance your experience and support local nonprofits:
- Visit your favorite nonprofits’ websites or social channels to see if they’ll be at the fair. If so, be sure to share their social posts with your network to help boost the organizations’ visibility and engagement with fellow fairgoers.
- Make it a game! See how many nonprofits you can spot, and visit with the organizations as you walk from one of your favorite fair activities to the next.
- Share with friends and family as they head to the fair… What’s the best new fair food that you tried? What’s a new community organization you hadn’t heard about before that you met at the fair?
- Did you know? The fair itself has a foundation. Located at the historic J.V. Bailey House (the yellow house) on the fairgrounds, the Minnesota State Fair Foundation is a nonprofit whose mission is to preserve and improve State Fair buildings, the fairgrounds, and educational programs to help the State Fair continue to thrive.
Don’t miss out on meeting the numerous organizations who will be at the fair this year that make a significant difference in Minnesota communities year-round – Animal Folks, Fraser, NAMI MN, and Urban Boatbuilders to name just a few of the Meets Standards® nonprofits that will be there!
