Accomplishments
Respite Care (94%), Training and Education (97%), and Caregiver Counseling (97%) of caregivers report improved coping abilities. Respite Care (100%), Training and Education (96%), and Caregiver Counseling (96%) of caregivers report improved ability to provide care. Respite Care (85%), Training and Education (100%), and Caregiver Counseling (100%) of caregivers report they will be able to provide care longer. Respite Care (77%), Training and Education (90%), and Caregiver Counseling (83%) of caregivers report feeling less stressed.
Current Goals
To reduce caregiver stress. To extend the amount of time care can be provided at home. To improve care giver coping ability, self-advocacy, and health/wellness through educational programs.
Community or Constituency Served
Family caregivers (relative, close friend, neighbor, partner) who provide informal, continual care to a loved-one of any age (from the very young to the elderly) with a chronic condition at home in Northeastern St. Louis County.
