Impact and Programs
Accomplishments
The most important update for 2021 was our ability to return to in-person visits at Children’s Minnesota Minneapolis and Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. Nothing is better than seeing the joy art brings to children. Despite the pandemic, our talented teaching artists were able to touch the lives of over 240 children. Programming success didn’t stop there. Art Takeout boxes and Art Take2 videos reached the most children in our history! Art Takeout, our series of eight art projects in a box, brought smiles to1,592 children throughout the United States. Art Take2 videos, reaching over 1,300 children throughout the country, offered an amazing way to connect children during the pandemic. Originally conceived by our Founder and Program Director Marsha Ovitz during the onset of the pandemic, and artfully executed and filmed by our teaching artists, Art Take2 videos have been a game-changer. Since May 2020, twenty videos have been produced and are being rolled out to children with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
