The goal of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota is to serve the youth of our communities through developing professionally supported, nurturing, productive and guiding relationships with carefully screened and trained adults. These relationships guide youth in their decisions regarding delinquent behavior, relationships with peers and adults, and attitude towards school, learning, caring, and community involvement. These services bring this agency’s programs to the children who need them most in an environment that is most accessible. This agency is an active member of the Initiative Foundation’s Healthy Organization Partnership, a member of the Central Minnesota and Caring Rivers United Way, winner of the Initiative Foundation’s Outstanding Non-Profit of the Year Award for 2006, our local agency was one of three finalists for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America National Agency of the Year honor for the past three consecutive years, and our Board of Directors was one of three finalists for National Board of the Year.
